I’m so excited for Thanksgiving this week. I’m looking forward to spending it with my family in our new home. Here are a few of my favorite DIYs for Thanksgiving in case you need a few ideas!
Hosting Thanksgiving this year? I am making my grandma’s cherry pie, and bringing a bit of nature inside. Using leaves from your yard for place settings, and garland, is such a great idea! I like keeping the decor simple, so I can focus on the turkey!
Make Thanksgiving dinner fun for the kids this year with bright, colorful decorations. Keep them entertained with their own turkey (or chicken) to “carve”, and paper feathers they can decorate and hang before the meal begins!
Thanksgiving dinner with my extended family is almost always potluck style. When we’re hosting, I always want to decorate the table but don’t know how much of the table will be covered with bowls, platters, and plates and how they’ll all fit together. With this in mind, I thought these metallic leaves would be a fun way to solve this little dilemma. Line them up along a table runner, scatter them around the table, or use them to dress up place settings – you can easily move them to accommodate whatever dishes your guests bring.

With autumn now in full swing, apple pie season has arrived with it. Make these simple apple pom pom toppers to add a pop of color to your pie! If you’re hosting Thanksgiving this year and plan on having several different types of pie, wouldn’t this be a fun way to let your guests know which is which? Until then I might have to use these toppers as an excuse to go apple picking with some friends and return home to bake a fresh apple pie together!
