Pom Pom Bird Picks

My mom (who takes amazing photos of nature) has taught me so much about birds over the years that I’ve really learned to love them – they come in every color of the rainbow, have gorgeous feathers, and special behaviors that make each bird a treasure. So in honor of my mom, here are some cute cupcake picks that come together with a few craft store supplies and celebrate how adorable birds can be.

You will need: colorful feathers, scissors, toothpicks, orange pipe cleaners, black seed beads, pom poms in two sizes, pliers, and a hot glue gun

Step 1: Glue a small pom pom onto a larger one to make the body of the bird.
Step 2: Glue a toothpick into the bottom of the bird. It helps to part the fluff of the pom pom before you add the glue to make sure the toothpick is all the way in the center.
Step 3: Snip off the ends of two feathers and then one more piece to make the wings and the tail.
Step 4: Glue a wing on each side of the bird.
Step 5: Glue the tail into the back of the bird.
Step 6: Bend the end of a pipe cleaner and snip it off with the pliers to create the beak.
Step 7: Glue the beak into the face of the bird.
Step 8: Glue on two seed beads for eyes onto the face.

These are so very cute!! I think you and your readers might like our eeBoo pom poms for this craft- we hand-picked the colors and custom dyed the pom poms. A little fanatic, I know, but we can’t help ourselves! I’ll definitely share this craft with our retails! Thanks!
