So now I’m regretting my “brilliant” idea of the house tour. Not that I’m embarrased of my apartment its just that I still feel like it is unfinished. Anyway, Today is the Hallway. {p.s.: As a disclaimer, nothing here is styled. I moved a few cardboard boxes out of the way but thats all.}
Photo 1: Most SF apartments have a long hallway in them that runs along the entire apartment. {All four apartments I’ve lived in have had one.} I really love this feature although the one in my current place isn’t super long. Here is an overview.
Photo 2: More Cowbell. This little guy is from The Gardener, one of my favorite boutiques in the Ferry Building.
Photo 3: We had this painting commissioned for our wedding. It is sort of weird to have a pictures and paintings up of ourselves but we hung it there a few days after we got back from our honeymoon and never got around to moving it. The bottom part of the hallway is antique wainscoting.
Photo 4: These stripey hooks are from Anthropologie. We use them for bags and coats.
Photo 5: This rug is from Anthropologie. I liked it so I bought it.
Photo 6: This ceramic umbrella holder is one of my favorite things in the whole apartment. Not sure why, I just really really love it. I got it a few years ago at Hold Everything.
I got the lucite console from CB2. The mirror from West Elm. The little displays change depending on what wedding announcements we have or what holiday/season it is. The shelf on the mirror is really useful. I got the little baby ‘F’ and the horse tile for Christmas from Paul. He got them at ABC Carpet in NY last fall.

I love that painting. You better hang it up in your new place.

we just got that west elm mirror on sale for our bathroom. the shelf does come in handy!
i have always wanted the CB console, or coffee table. i had a perfect spot for the coffee table, but my husband made one for us, and i really couldn’t say, um..thanks for making this but i’m going to buy this clear thing instead.
i’m loving the house tour! please keep it up.
when do we get to start nursery decorating!

I am seriously jealous of your umbralla stand. is that crazy? i remember that same one and thought, “oh, they’ll have something else next season.” not thinking that that season was their last… i did make sure to get one of their fab jewelry boxes before they went under though. anyway. love the entryway! 🙂

…but you have to tell us who the artist is for that great painting of you two…

I am also loving the house tour! After reading your post I just went out to Antho to try and buy those coat hooks but alas my local Anthro was out. I settled for some super cute ceramic hooks with images of a cute pooch on them.
Thanks for the inspiration!

Oh! I was just thinking about that painting from an older post! I think I want to do something similar for my wedding. Can you pleeeeaaase tell us who the artist is? And is it too tacky to ask what I’d be looking to spend (ballpark) for the same kind of thing from this artist? I don’t want to call them and then feel dumb because it’s way out of my price range:) Seriously, that was such a cool idea; hope you don’t mind if I borrow it!

from what you say, and what it looks like seems like your apt is a “train.” Meaning, long hallway with doors off of the sides for rooms. At least that’s what we called em’ in NYC.
Looks great! That umbrella holder is so nice!

I was impressed by your hallway – I especially liked your see-through table. Smart design for a long hallway.
Cute hooks!

I also love that painting. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. I agree with everyone else that you MUST keep that hung somewhere special. I don’t know if I can resist linking over to it from my blog…

I love your hallway! Thanks for posting your apartment — I know how much work it must be, but I’m so glad you did. Our “hallway” area is a disaster and I’ve been in need of inspiration. Love, love, love every bit of it, the mirror, table, umbrella stand. Thanks!

The console is the best idea for a narrow hallway, keeping things open. I love the painting. I felt you were apologizing for it for some strange reason. It is so lovely!

The artist’s name is Clayton here is his website. If you want a portrait done I would recommend finding a local artist you can work with. If you are on a budget a student is your best bet.

i am so glad to see the cb2 peek a boo console in an entrance hall. i’ve measured (and re-measured) my foyer for one a million times and keep thinking it would be too short – but it looks so cute i’m (again) thinking i just might have to order one for myself!!

and i have the striped anthro hooks – they live in the master bath at our house (and will come with me (and the blue ceramic drawer pulls i bought from anthro about six years ago) if we ever move)
