Port 2 Port Press

I finally signed up for the card society. I was sick of everyone blogging about all the cute cards they got every month. I received my membership card and everything in the mail yesterday. I’m so stoked to receive my first cards!

I had never heard of the Card Society. Thanks for the intro.

Let me get this straight. . .

$16 per month for 2 cards ($8 for a card)?

    Dear unconvinced…

Do you know how much 100% cotton paper costs? $5 for a big sheet.

Do you know how much it costs to to make a photopolymer plate? $75

Do you know how much ink, renting or buying a press and maintaining a press costs? Hundreds to thousands of dollars.

Not to mention the graphic design skills that were needed to come up with the concept and image in the first place.

Or the actual printing–where each card is cranked through the machine one by one.

Letterpress is an expensive process. If you don’t like it you don’t have to buy it. (there is probably a target near by with cute designs for $2 per card.)

(also postage is paid by the company.)

I think $8 per card delivered to my door is a great deal.
