Printable Housewarming Invitations & Moving Announcements

by Michaela Egger

We’re in the middle of renovating our new home, packing up our old flat and moving. So, for my project this month the idea of a little DIY printable housewarming invitation came naturally. For me one of the best things about moving is having people over for the first time! These little invitations are fun and really quick to whip up. Once I had finished the printable housewarming party invitations, I wanted to make more! So, I came up with a little bonus for you peeps: pocket-sized moving announcements. These mini babies are great to carry in your purse and hand out to friends, neighbours, business partners.

DIY Message Candle Centerpieces

by Michaela Egger

In my work as event designer, almost every dinner table setting is competed with candles. Votives, candlesticks, little lanterns, etc – there’s always the warm glow of candle light in one form or another because every single client loves the intimate, festive atmosphere candles create. So, why not use candles as the only centerpieces? This DIY will let you make a big statement with your table settings – in no time at all. Let your centerpiece “greet” your guests, spell out your table numbers or whatever else comes to your mind! I’ve provided three different printable templates – black & white, shades from yellow to pink and colder hues in blues and greens. Feel free to mix and match!

DIY Mini Cotton “Candy” Invitations

by Michaela Egger

I really have a soft spot for all things miniature. Anything that’s awesome in its regular size just gets oh so much more adorable in mini. So, when i was thinking of a fun way to invite friends to a little backyard carnival, the idea for these mini cotton candy invitations popped into my mind. Now, these are really not suitable for little kids – they might try eat the cotton, but older children and grown-ups like me will go crazy over these sweet things with the hidden message inside! You can use them as invitations like I do or you could make them as the carnival alternative to fortune cookies and hide little fortunes inside. And hey, if you want, you can also use real cotton candy instead of cotton. Yum!

DIY Woodland Creature Favors

by Michaela Egger

Make these cute woodland creature pins for your forest themed party. The little ones will love them, and personally I prefer the non-candy kind of favors for kids. You could also send one along with each invitation (just make them really small to fit them into the invitation box) or use these for a paint-them-yourself party activity. I’ve included 4 little templates, but you can always get creative and make your own if you want to add more animals. Don’t get discouraged – they might look difficult to make, but with the templates, they are super-easy and quick to whip up. Not counting the drying time of the clay, it took about 1 hour to make these four pins. (PS – A Woodland Backdrop & Woodland Party Invites.)

A DIY Woodland Backdrop

by Michaela Egger

A woodland creatures party ideally takes place in the forest – somewhere in a sheltered clearing nestled in a charming woodland area. But not everybody is lucky enough to live near such a place. Or if they do, there’s always the chance of rain. So for a plan B, let’s take the party inside! To create that woodland feeling, you can bring in twigs, branches, moss and plants. And you can create this simple forest paper backdrop made with kraft paper and water color. A great DIY even for smaller children. (PS – Woodland party invitations!)
