I love creating theme parties, especially when they are easy to DIY. For my daughter’s 5th birthday this year, I’m putting together a little woodland creature themed party and I’m happy to share a few of my DIYs with you this month. These cute mini woodland invitation boxes are easy, quick and inexpensive, but they will definitely get your little guests’ attention.
Materials: Recycled cardstock, printable box template, scissors, glue, dried moss, invitation template, free font “Claire Hand“, paper, string
Step 1: Print out the box template on recycled card stock, then cut out along the lines.
Step 2: Fold all sides of the box as shown in image two.
Step 3: Assemble the box by adding glue to the fold-over sides highlighted with little arrows in image 2.
Step 4: Download the Claire Hand font and install it on your computer, then open the invitation template and fill in your own text in CAPS. Add some line spacing to create paragraphs. Then cut out along the lines. Also cut out the little “open me” tag that comes with the printable box template.
Step 5: Roll up your invitation and fix it with string, then attach your mini “open me” tag.
Step 6: Fill the box with dried moss and place the invitation scroll on top. Close your box and fix it with a little bit of tape if you like.

So cute! My little guy is only one this year and we’re doing a simple stripes theme, but now I’m thinking up woodland ideas for next year!

What a great idea! A cute little toy toadstool or gnome would be cute in the box too.
