DIY Message Candle Centerpieces

In my work as event designer, almost every dinner table setting is competed with candles. Votives, candlesticks, little lanterns, etc – there’s always the warm glow of candle light in one form or another because every single client loves the intimate, festive atmosphere candles create. So, why not use candles as the only centerpieces? This DIY will let you make a big statement with your table settings – in no time at all. Let your centerpiece “greet” your guests, spell out your table numbers or whatever else comes to your mind! I’ve provided three different printable templates – black & white, shades from yellow to pink and colder hues in blues and greens. Feel free to mix and match!

Materials: Cylindric glass vases in different heights, printable templates (ABC), scissors, tape, votive candles in small glasses

Step 1: Measure the height of your vases
Step 2: Print out the template and letters of your choice and cut them into the same height as your vases.
Step 3: Slide the paper sheet into your vase, then measure to cut off the excess paper on both ends. Fix with a bit of transparent tape.
Step 4: Place a candle or votive in a little glass inside your vase and you’re done!

What a fun party idea. I might try this and paint the paper with watercolors first for a different look.

This is a great idea for parties at events or for dinner parties at home. I will definitely have to try this out. I would love to print some paper with a light floral pattern for the candle to glow behind.
