In the Middle Ages, many people believed that witches could disguise themselves as black cats. No witches here, just yummy chocolate bars hiding behind these dark feline faces. I love how the metallic foil of the package makes the cats’ eyes look like they’re glowing in the dark. Boo!
Materials needed: chocolate bars (make sure to get ones with metallic foil inside), X-acto knife, black card stock, pink card stock, pencil, hot glue, silver pipe cleaners, scissors, double stick tape.
Step 1: Remove the outer wrapping of the candy bar. Cut card stock ½” shorter than the candy bar, and long enough that you can wrap around the back of the bar.
Step 2: Center the paper around the bar, and wrap around the sides, using a ruler to help you get a crisp edge to fold.
Step 3: Flip the paper over and pencil in two eye shapes – being sure to leave with the eye ball attached to the rest of the paper. (If you need help on the eyes, refer to this picture for reference). Carefully cut out the eyes with an X-acto knife. Wrap the card stock around the bar, and secure the card stock on the backside with tape.
Step 4: Add two triangles for ears with a tiny dab of hot glue.
Step 5: Cut three silver pipe cleaners into 3 – 4” pieces. Twist them together in the center.
Step 6: With a small dab of hot glue, attach the whiskers to the cat’s face. Then with another dab of hot glue, attach a small triangle with rounded corners for the nose.

I love the idea of wrapping chocolate bars in a custom design. It makes giving sweets as a gift so much more personal! I’ll have to keep this in mind for Christmas.
