We recently transformed mini party fans into these super cute fruit slice drink stirrers so we thought it would be great to take just one of these designs and re-create it on a much larger scale to create a fun lemon-themed party backdrop! Read on for the details….
Materials needed: 26″ Savage seamless paper (in lemonade), x-acto knife, measuring tape compass, various sized tissue paper party fans (in yellow), white cardstock, scissors, hot glue gun, gaffer’s tape
Step 1: Unroll enough paper to make a 26” diameter circle.
Step 2: Using the measuring tape compass, draw a circle with a radius of 13”. Make a total of 7 concentric circles with radiuses of 13”, 10-1/2”, 8-1/2”, 6-1/2”, 5”, 4”, and 3”.
Step 3: Cut out each circle with an x-acto knife. You’ll be left with 4 different sized rinds.
Step 4: Cut out a bunch of 3”, 2-1/2”, 2”, and 1” teardrop-shaped seeds from white cardstock. We used 6 seeds per lemon.
Step 5: Cut a strip of cardstock and fold in half. Hot glue the folded end of the cardstock between the two fan handles on the back of the fan and let cool. You will use these tabs to tape the fans to the wall.
Step 6: Add dabs of hot glue around the circumference of the fan and attach the rind. Then, hot glue the seeds onto the face of the fan.
Step 7: Cut off the cardboard end of the fan handle so it is flush with the rind.
Step 8: Tape the fans to the wall and you’re good to go!
