Sometimes it’s all in the presentation. And these presents will surely delight any recipient! A snowy scene sits atop black-paper wrapped packages. Almost too cute to open………almost.
Materials needed: Black wrapping paper, scissors, tape, glue, white fabric batting, fake snow, assorted vintage bottlebrush trees, reindeer, or mini decorations (some good recommendations here).
Step 1: Wrap present in black wrapping paper.
Step 2: Cut out an uneven oval of fabric batting, sized smaller than the present.
Step 3: Spread a line of glue around the edge of the batting. Add a few scraps inside the glue to create a little hill.
Step 4: Flip batting over and press edges down on present.
Step 5: Add trees, reindeer, snowmen – or any other woodland animals.
Step 6: Add another line of glue around the perimeter of the batting, and a few dollops of glue around the scene. Sprinkle fake snow on top of the gift, let dry and shake off excess snow. Be sure to have a vacuum cleaner on hand!

Hi Chiara. This is probably the neatest thing I’ve ever seen done with black wrapping paper. So cute!
Always,

Does anyone have a suggestion for a small, wintry figurine supplier (such as those used here)? All the suggestions I’ve seen have been to look at antique and vintage stores, but I have not had any luck. Nor have I had luck at the major craft supply stores.

Hi Jessica and Butterfly Mama – I found mine at thrift stores, sometimes you can find them glued to a ratty old wreath. I think Michael’s craft store sells little figurines, and I would also try ebay and etsy. Do a search for vintage snowman figure and see what you come up with, like these from the 1950’s: https://www.etsy.com/listing/164260325/1950s-santa-snowman-christmas-round?ref=sr_gallery_37&ga_search_query=snowman+figure&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_vintage_rewrite=vintage+snowman+figure&ga_original_query=2&ga_page=1&ga_search_type=vintage&ga_facet=vintagesnowman+figure
thanks!

I loooooooooooooooooooove this! I just started my Holiday Gift Wrapping series at my blog featuring unique wrapping ideas (using old sweater + skirt as a gift wrap; created a polar bear snow bear with cute claws and all, etc fun etc.). I would had totally created this winter wonderland if I had more time. Next year! Merry Holiday!!!!

Oh my, I don’t think I would care what was in the box if it was wrapped like this! Will be pinning and trying out for next year for sure! Would make sure it was me and not one of my 4 daughters carrying the box though lol
