I love the idea of unconventional party decorations like these party necklaces. (Remember this party necklace from last year.) Instead of a handing out party hats, give your guests a necklace when they walk in the door. I like these because you can make them any color you want and they look so cute and festive. These would be great for a birthday party or even for a shower. Find the complete instructions below!
Material Needed: Crepe paper, scissors, string or twine, quick dry tacky glue
Step 1: Cut crepe paper into lengths for the bow ties. Heavy weight crepe paper will use 3″ to 5″ of length for medium bows. (Medium to light weight crepe paper will use longer lengths, about 5″ to 7″.)
Step 2: Once the length is cut, trim into desired width of bows.
Step 3: Fold paper like an accordion. Hold the folded paper in the middle and check that the sides fan into desired bow shape.
Step 4: Take a scrap of crepe paper and trim into small strip.
Step 5: Place a drop of glue on the middle of the folded paper and attach one end of the strip to bind the bow. Wrap the strip around the middle of the bow and glue again at the other side.
Step 6: Cut string to a desired length for necklace.
Step 7: On a flat surface, lay down a bow and put a dot of glue on the middle of the bow, where the knot would be.
Step 8: Lay the string across the bow and allow to dry.
