I asked artist, Leah Rosenberg, if she would make us a cake for our 10th birthday. We discussed different ideas before she suggested doing a cake procession. She made us 10 cakes (one for each year!) and I wanted to do a version of the Sense and Sensibility wedding-cake-on-a-stand. So Andrea (our Shop Manager!) asked her husband to make us these pedestals. It was a super fun way to surprise our guests and it felt ceremonial! It was one of my favorite parts of our party.
I tried to get some of our employees to wear roller skates for the party but they shut me down. Luckily I talked Sarah into doing it for this shoot. To make the cake pedestals more festive we added a bunch of ribbon and honeycomb from the Oh Happy Day Party Shop! Would you ever have a cake parade? I think it would be cute to do it with mini cakes as well.
