We originally planned to fill these giant balloon ghosts with helium but discovered they’re just as awesome and a lot more cost effective if simply hung from the ceiling! Continue to learn how to make these bold decorations to amuse guests at your next Halloween party.
Materials needed: 10mm white LEDs, CR2032 batteries, wire cutters, electrical tape, white scrim fabric (2 yds per), 3’ diamond clear balloons, air tank, fishing line, black felt, scissors, Aleene’s Quick Dry Tacky Glue, tape
Step 1: Trim the legs of the LED down by about 1mm with wire cutters. Position the battery between the legs so that the LED lights up. Tape the two together with electrical tape and insert into the balloon.
Step 2: Inflate the balloons with air until they are about 20” in diameter and knot.
Step 3: Drape the two yards of fabric over the inflated balloon, with the balloon knot facing up. Cut a small slit in the fabric and pull the balloon knot through.
Step 4: Cut small 1-1/2″ circles of felt for the eyes and attach with Aleene’s.
Step 5: Tie fishing line around the balloon knot and tape to the ceiling.
