Materials needed: black cardstock, scissors, craft glue, hot glue gun, clips, gold or yellow embroidery floss, large needle, toothpicks

Step 1: Cut a 1 ½” x 1 ½” square of black cardstock.
Step 2: Cut a ½” x 3” strip of black cardstock.
Step 3: Bend the strip into a circle, and apply craft glue to attach the ends together. Let dry. Clip with a paper clip if you want to put it down to dry.
Step 4: Apply a thin line of glue to one edge of the circle, and attach to the center of a black square.
Step 5: Wrap embroidery floss around two fingers 6 times. Cut the floss. Carefully take your fingers out of the loops and set down.
Step 6: Cut a 3” piece of floss, and double knot it around the center of the 6 loops of floss.
Step 7: Cut the looped ends off to create a tassel. Dampen your fingers to tame the floss if it insists on going in different directions.
Step 8: Thread one end of the 3” floss and insert if directly into the center of the black square, coming out the side with the circle. Adjust so the tassel end hangs off the hat about 1”. Apply a dab of glue (either craft glue or hot glue) to keep in place.
Step 9: Using hot glue, attach a toothpick to the underside of the hat.
Step 10: Repeat steps 1-9 to create as many hats as you need.
