Rock on! These sweet cupcakes are easily adaptable to so many occasions – especially Father’s Day. You could add a kid’s name to the flag, and use it for a tiny scientist-themed birthday party or a construction-themed party. Switch it up more, and give little treat bags to teachers – that last day of school is coming up fast!
Materials needed for the cupcakes: Candy pebbles, rock candy sticks, paper, bamboo skewers, scissors, alphabet stamps, stamp pad
Materials needed for the treats: Candy pebbles, rock candy sticks, cellophane treat bags, small manila tags, markers.
For the cupcakes –
Step 1: Stamp your message on a small piece of paper. Let dry.
Step 2: Cut out the stamped line and notch the right side.
Step 3: Cut a bamboo skewer into thirds. Or, cut the end off a rock candy swizzle stick.
Step 4: Apply a line of glue to the flat edge of your message flag. Attach to skewer and hold to set, then let dry.
Step 5: Pile candy pebbles onto a generously frosted cupcake.
Step 6: Insert message flag into cupcake.
For the treats –
Step 1: Fill cellophane bags with rock candy.
Step 2: Write out “YOU ROCK” label to recipient.
Step 3: Secure bag with tag. Done!
