DIY Wrapping Paper Pt. 2

For this round of DIY wrapping paper I got inspired by Nadal & Federer, they created self portraits by hitting paint-covered tennis balls against a canvas. You won’t need any tennis skills for this project though, just a few types of balls you have lying around the house. PS – Don’t miss the DIY wrapping paper we shared last week!

Materials needed: tissue or rice paper, a beach towel, a black ink pad, a tennis ball, ping pong ball and a golf ball.

Pattern 1 – Golf ball:  Place a beach towel under your tissue or rice paper so you have a soft base. If your base is too hard, the print will be one colored and far less interesting. Simply dab the ball onto the ink pad and make little circle movements on your paper.

Pattern 2 – Ping pong ball: Again place the beach towel under your paper. Dab the ball onto the ink pad and make quick marks on your paper, same movement as you would use a stamp.

Pattern 3 – Tennis ball: Make sure you ink up the ball where there is a line so you get the most interesting marks. Dab the ball onto the ink pad and make quick marks on your paper, same movement as you would use a stamp.

Which one will you be trying?

Who knew a ball would make that design? So cool, I’m picturing this as wallpaper for my home!
