Happy Things in Paris: Artazart

I found Artazart Bookstore on accident right after we moved to Paris. We were looking to buy some Polaroid Film and saw on the Impossible Project site that it was sold there. Artazart only sells photography, design, art, and fashion books, some well known and some obscure. It is one of my favorite stores in the world. It is just piles and piles of the most beautiful and inspiring books. (Most of the books are in English or else are just pictures.) I always stop here when I’m showing friends around Paris. Plus it is a good excuse to go sit along Canal Saint-Martin and people watch–not an area the tour books will usually send you but it’s one of my favorite neighborhoods. (My thoughts on collecting art books here.)

Artazart | 83 Quai Valmy, 75010 Paris, France

A special thanks to my sweet friend Valerie Dray for taking these photos. She is one of my favorite things I’ve found here in Paris.

This is one of my favorite places to pass some time in Paris. And one of my favorite places to drop a few euros.

Sounds brilliant! I have a massive collection of art books. I buy one (or three or four) from every new place we go- they make the best reminders!

Artazar is a really nice place! not far from there are three great restaurants : Sesame, for a healthy lunch or brunch, Cambodge (the best Bo Bun in town), and my favorite : Marcel, a cool place with indian food!

Have I ever told you Oh, Happy Day is one of my most favoritest blogs in the world! Even when I’m behind on my other blog reading, I always, always, read this one. So inspiring!

I love that outfit (the scarf is amazing)! Wish I would have known about this amazing little shop when we were in Paris. It looks incredible.

It’s a perfectly beautiful store! I love the rambling, cluttered, collectedness of places like that. Everyone tries to be so sleek and modern and branded nowadays with shops! I really love the tomato-red paint, too!
