I hope everyone had a good vacation. Santa came to our house and we had a cozy Christmas day just the three of us. Everyone leaves the city for the holidays and we had the whole place to ourselves. After good food and long naps and talking to our family on Skype we went for a walk down at Crissy Field. It was perfect.
But now onto better things. The week between Christmas and New Years is my favorite time of the whole year. I love planning my new resolutions and cleaning things out and all the new beginnings. I’m giddy just thinking of it.

It seems to be a theme this year – quiet, simple, and lovely holiday celebrations. Maybe a failing economy is all anyone needed to get back to basics and remember to slow down and smell the gingerbread.

Happy happy to you and yours. This week is my favorite time of the year too. I’ve already cleaned out all my closets, my drapes, and organized, now on to list making and goal setting.
It’s weird how ‘winter cleaning’ sets in for those of us who love the feeling of fresh starts and calm reflections.
