Beds

I almost bought the 4 poster Ikea bed but as I’ve been going through slide shows of bedrooms on the Domino site I find myself being drawn to really basic headboards. I really like this one from West Elm that Nick Olsen posted about.

Thank you to everyone who has taking the survey so far. It has been very useful. I am listening to everything you are saying and will try to post a summary of the results. The survey system I’m using has a cap on it and we’re almost there so it will likely be closed very soon.

Ones like the one pictured are so much easier to make that a four poster. I like both, but the convenience of this is a bonus.

I love that headboard you linked to. We haven’t had a headboard for years (too long), that one inspired me!

I have a pencil post bed and I love it, but it’s really not as versatile as the clean look of a simple headboard. We’ve had it for 10 years now and I gaze longingly at the upholstered headboards. If I had it to do over, I would go with one of those.

i might get the same poster bed from ikea…but thinking about adding extra wood cut on the top to make a camel hump then have is upholstered in some rubie green fabric. we were going to get the iron “bird cage” one from anthropologie, but the headboard looks really uncomfortable.

definitely stick with the headboard.. i’m so glad i did because it really opens up the space in the room.

I think those 4 posters at Ikea look lovely. But give it a slight shake at the store. It’s about ready to topple. I wouldn’t want to “celebrate” any birthdays on that bed.
