I took the train from New York to Boston on Monday {which is a very pleasant way to travel BTW.} Boston is really lovely and has exceeded any expectations I had. Now I’m sitting in my hotel room. Paul is at the HOW Design Conference for the day and Moses is still sleeping soundly so I’m just sitting here in my fluffy hotel robe enjoying my nice big breakfast that room service just brought up. We had a fantastic time in New York–I wish I had a few more days there. The Stationery Show was wonderful, I have loads of posts to write but I probably won’t get around to it until I get back.
Here is a picture of me on the T holding a box of cannoli from Mike’s Pastry. Thank you to the wonderful wonderful Katie for babysitting last night.

I’m from Boston (originally, like the first 35 years of my life) and that box of pastry you’re holding . . . the best. Enjoy. I hope there’s a “lobster tail” in there, too. Sigh…

Ah Mike’s! I especially like the fact that the person sitting in the background is also holding a Mike’s box.

I am so glad you posted on the train ride. I was considering a train ride when I am back east in July but was a bit unsure about it.

Hey – I’m a Boston local. Even lived around the corner from Mike’s! It’s a classic, but the best goodies are at FLOUR BAKERY + CAFE, Washington street in the South End. Bring Moses for lunch and get yourself a homemade oreo. Please email me if you want the baby-friendly hot list!! annmarie@thetreehousepress.com

We used to live in Boston, and miss it dearly. I am craving one of those chocolate dipped- chocolate chip connali’s from Mikes. Oh, and if you like Indian food, you have to try Tamarind Bay in Harvard Square. I heart tamarind bay.

As a born-and-bred Boston girl, I have to say well-done. No trip is complete without Mike’s Pastries. Also…if you have time, get to Castle Island in Southie. My favorite place ON EARTH.

ah, I love any excuse I can get to go to Mike’s! Also, if you’re in town on a weekend, I hope you make it to the SoWa Open Market. I was there last weekend and there were so many cute little things to be had.

Aw, I’m sorry we didn’t end up organizing a meet-up while you were here. Do you take off tomorrow or are you here until Friday?

Oh, I loooove that place. I made my first visit to Boston this spring, and I had to stop in Mike’s while going both ways on the Freedom Trail. Sigh–happy tastebuds!
