I am getting serious about finishing our apartment. Things to do:
1. Compile all decorating ideas to a book (including photos and swatches)
2. Try to find a decorator or really talented friend to help me.
3. Hit the thrift stores and flea markets.
4. Sell all my extraneous loot so that I have a budget.
5. Maybe get a small retail job in exchange for a discount? Room and Board?

I love this room. Blue and yellow is such a classic combo.. and I have seen a big blue comeback this spring… it’s everywhere! 🙂

Good plan! Though, from what I’ve seen of your place, you have all the talent yourself.
I’m in the same bind – saving up for some investment pieces, getting impatient and starting to feel like I’m not making progress. I think I need to compromise on some of my wishlist items and get a little creative with thrift.

Heck, you can do this design all by yourself. You have what it takes and you are doing it ‘green’ too – shopping second hand shops. Bravo.

Hey Jordan
Check out the Decor8 blogger who also has the store Turqouise and that blog is turquoise-la.blogspot.com. She recently posted on E-Decorating. You email your budget and photos and they offer design services via emails etc. I’m tempted. She posted on it halfway down. I like her vintage items in the store but we live in NJ

I think getting a job at Room and Board would be a great idea. I had a friend that did the same thing at Saks, just for the discount.

cute bedroom. it’s the kind of color scheme that induces relaxation and inspiration all at the same time. I think every bedroom should have a strong blue element.

I’m in the process of redecorating our room. So far I have everything extraneous sold, a binder full of ideas, and about half the items procured. So much fun! But, it does take some time…
