ParkLane

We aren’t buying a crib until next spring. The “nursery” (and I use that term very loosely) is actually a large walk in closet off the living room. But that hasn’t stopped me from scoping out the goods. I was pleased to see Wal Mart just came out with another crib from their modbaby line. The cost of the ParkLane crib is $300 and your soul.

I love that bedding. My husband and I have to move before our baby is born, so I am trying not to buy anything. It is very hard!

I am sure you are getting unwanted baby advice from the world over and the last thing you need is some yahoo on your web site giving advice, BUT you don’t really need a crib until the baby is at least 3 months old. Or, if you’re a pushover like me, not until the baby is eleven months old. at which point you will gladly foist your offspring in any old crib so long as it means you get your bed back to marital bliss.

Yeah, can you say GUILT everytime you put the kid into a Walmart crib.

Luckily I have the talent/curse of rarely feeling guilt.

That was funny..as I was reading your post I thought “hmm, pretty but yuck, Wal-Mart” and then you summed it up with your very last line! Funny how I can justify the Forever 21 but Wal-Mart is the line I can not, will not cross.

I love my wal-mart crib…funny that they sell knock-off designs from the best of the business, get over it people. My little boy’s crib looks like it came from an expensive store, you would NEVER know it came from wal-mart. I say, get whatever you think looks great…that crib is darling!

Those are cute!! My kids all spent their first months/years living in a walk in closet. It is close, it stays DARK and is quiet (you can close a door for them…). It is awesome. I think that ALL babies should have a closet/room. 😉 We are also apartment dwellers w/ our 4th on the way, so you do have to get creative.

I love that crib… frankly, we got a fancy one and by the time number 2 was done with it, it had been kicked and chewed to pieces. You might as well not be TOO upset when that happens. It is easier with a cheaper crib (plus, you can get a new one later..change it up a bit).

Also, my kids were ALL loud sleepers. Really loud. We were happy to have them out of the room.

Why would anyone care that it comes from Wal-mart. I think it’s cute.

I got my daughter’s crib from K-mart & it’s sweet. It has dark wood & it changes into a twin bed when you are finished using it as a crib.

I think the reason some people care are ethical reasons. WalMart has been known in the past to have unethical manufacturing and business practices. So when you support them with your money you are supporting those practices.

    I love the “soul” comment!

I haven’t been in a walmart in almost 10 years though, for ethical reasons … bad customer service. But that crib looks nice, and they have some cute bedding. I want to spend my nursery dollars on accessories that can be used longer than the crib.

The crib may be sold by Wal-Mart but it’s actually manufactured by Million Dollar Baby, a company that gets decent marks for safety and quality. It’s not top of the line, but you’re getting a good value. I’m thinking of getting this crib too…Looks similar to the “Loom” crib by Nurseryworks that costs $600.

These comment made me chuckle. My huband had a ‘closet’ room for most of his childhood years. But it was his own choice. Tired of sharing a room with the older brother and took matters into his own hands.
