I started a new job a few weeks ago and I am still getting used to balancing my new schedule with blogging. I love blogging but lately its like I forget I have a blog. I hate it when real life interferes with my internet life. 🙂
The affordable house of the week is somewhere in the boonies. Paul tells me it is near Logan, Utah. It has 6 bedrooms and is darling. This is the kind of house I would completely rennovate, knock out a few walls and create a beautiful studio for Paul and I to share. Actually it is over 3,000 sq ft… we might as well start an artists commune. Only $274k!

Jordan, I’m almost certain this home is just up the street from my parent’s home. It looks so familiar to me. I grew up in Providence and I’m pretty sure if you have a good arm, you can throw a rock to Logan from there.

Wow, are those kitchen cabinets asking for a make-over or what?

LOVED: the front of the house, the trim around the windows, the kind of arch over the dining room entry, the second floor landing, and the master bathroom (what one could see of it anyway).
Could live without: the kitchen cabinets (did it say they had just been redone? or was that the pantry …), the downstairs family room wall/carpet combo, and the back of the house/backyard seemed kind of dull.
All in all, a cute find. And considering that I have spent time every summer I can remember visiting in or around Cache Valley (Yea for Preston!) how is it I had never heard of Providence before? I like the name. 8]

I heard that Bill Gates makes, like, $.50 every time you open up Internet Explorer. If that is true, then I have single-handedly helped the richest man alive continue to live in extreme richness from checking your blog multiple times a day.
So, please keep blogging when you find the time! Bill Gates depends on you.

I grew up in Logan and River Heights, which is the small town between Logan and Providence. It’s a good old pioneer town, with the advantage of being 2 minutes from a college town. By the way, there’s a great inn down the street from this house. Thanks for the quick trip home…wish I could buy a second home (since we’re not moving from Boston any time soon). I would spend summers in this one and let me kids bike back and forth to their grandparents’ house.

Wow. I couldn’t even find a place with 800 sq. ft. AND in the ghetto for that price where I’m at now! *sigh*

My parents left their Washington, DC home after living there for over 10 years and retired to Providence, UT. They love it there. Small town, cool weather, amazing views and lovely people. It is truly its name.

I was just visiting Providence this weekend – it so peaceful & beautiful! I would move there in a second if I could.

The problem with “affordable” houses is that they are often found in places like Utah, where wages tend to be low. Thus, “affordable” is a relative term. Sigh.
