In some of the old print and letterpress shops they had these gorgeous marble top work tables. The originals are really hard to find and now they are pretty expensive. So until I have the money, space, and can actually find one we decided to make a cheap work table ourselves. I needed it to be waist high so we bought a hollow core door from Home Depot and these saw horses from IKEA. These particular saw horses are adjustable. It is sturdy and since it was so cheap I don’t care if I ruin it when I work.
