Paperwhites are some of my favorite flowers. Since they don’t require a period of chilling, they are easy to force into bloom during the winter. They are easy to start and can give you indoor blooms for months. The link above is to a kit you can buy online but I like to make my own kit to give. It usually involves finding an appropiate container, buying some rocks, and buying bulbs from a garden store. It is so nice to look at flowers when it is cold outside.

Jordan, I don’t know where to ask my design question so I am putting it here if that’s ok. I am looking for birthday cake ornaments or (birthday appropriate) to hang from the arms of my chandelier. Have you seen anything cute and pink? Any ideas. I like the pink owl at Antrhopologie, she may be a bit big though.
