Pamper Yourself on a Budget San Francisco Style

Here is my cheap spa guide for the bay area. None of these places have bells and whistles but they are clean and they do quality work.

1. Facial $35 Sunset
Urban Beauty Skin Care, 1308 20th Avenue (415)661-0382
This place is amazing. Very clean and an impossible price to beat. Thirty-five dollars gives you an hour facial but if you splurge five bucks more they do a mask and it lasts an hour and a half.

2. Mani Pedi $22 Inner Sunset
Daily Beauty Salon and Spa, 600 Irving street (415) 566-2323
I went to these guys even when I lived here back in 2000. They are clean and they consistently give me the best mani-pedis I’ve ever had. I’ve even been to some spendy places but these guys are the winners in quality as well as price. (Bonus: massaging chairs, the owners are really nice, and the N Judah stops right in front of their salon.)

3. Massage $51 The Mission
Quan Yin Healing Arts, 455 Valencia Street (415) 861-4964
I haven’t ever been to these guys but my friend Azla swears by them. $51 for a one hour massage–$31 for a half hour. As soon as Paul is back I’m booking him an appointment.

4. Bikini/Leg wax

I haven’t found a clean affordable place for this. I’ve seen places that had cheap prices but I’ve never dared to try them out. The ones I’ve actually been to were suggested by friends and they were expensive. (In Utah I go to this lady and it costs $25.) If any one has good bay area suggestions, please share. (Lately I’ve just been saving up for laser hair removal.)

Mindy knows of a good place on Potrero Hill. She can give you the info. Cheap and clean. Only $25 from what I hear.
