I was tuned into the fact that mid-century modern furniture existed in college, but I didn’t really care. It wasn’t until I was converted to Domino Magazine that I really started to appreciate it (or even learn how to pronounce the designer’s names.)
I really wanted a tulip chair for my desk. I had seen some authentic pieces at the Alameda Flea Market. And then I was going to just buy a nice knock off (brand new) at White Furniture but shipping was expensive. Finally I found one on Craigslist. Anyway, I’m not stoked about a whole house done in mid-century modern style, I mostly just like a piece or two mixed in. If you want to learn more you can read this article at Domino.com
I’m still trying to find a nice cushion for my chair that doesn’t cost a million dollars.
