Giant Colorful Letter Banner

It’s hard to see friends leave for far off adventures, but at least you can send them off in style! We made this giant letter backdrop for a Bon Voyage party. It’s an easy way to make a big impact with a small budget. You can even customize the message to suit any occasion. See the DIY below!

Materials Needed: Projector, computer, 19″ x 25″ cardstock sheets (in rainbow colors), ruler, pencil, gaffer’s tape

Step 1: Make a PDF document with the phrase you want to display. Mirror the image so the text reads backwards.

Step 2: Tape a large piece of paper on the wall and project a letter from your phrase onto it. Trace the mirrored letter onto the piece of paper. Repeat with the remaining letters. If you don’t have access to a projector, you can have the letters sent to your nearest Kinkos to print.

Step 3: Cut the letters out using an X-acto knife and ruler.

Step 4: Apply the letters to the wall using loops of gaffer’s tape. You’re ready to party!

How bright and playful! These letters are a great idea for any party, and are so easy to make yourself! Party planning can be stressful, but sometimes taking the time to slow down, work with your hands, and get creative can help relieve some of that stress – and contribute to the planning at the same time! Thanks for sharing this great idea!
