Honeycomb Bunny Cupcake Toppers

This Easter, why not make some honeycomb bunnies to hop across your cupcakes? (Hopefully everyone won’t be too sugared out on jellybeans and chocolate eggs). Start with pre-made honeycomb picks, add a few snips of paper, and voila – – bunnies! You could also make a few to decorate an Easter basket, or even glue them by their ears onto a ribbon for a sweet garland.

Materials needed: honeycomb picks in pink and/or gold, pink, white and/or gold paper or cardstock, scissors, craft glue.

Step 1: Out of light pink paper, cut out two 1 x ¼” rectangles, then trim down the corners to create bunny ear shapes.
Step 2: Out of darker pink paper, cut out two matching pink shapes that will fit inside the larger ear shape.
Step 3: Glue the dark pink shapes onto the lighter pink ears, lining them up at the bottom.
Step 4: Apply a small dab of glue to the front bottom of the ears, and insert them into the top of the honeycomb ball. You may need to trim a little bit off the edges of the ears to make sure they will fit into the little slivers of the honeycomb paper.
Step 5: Cut out three tiny strips of white paper, about 1 x 1/16”, and glue them to the center of the bunny’s face, overlapping them to create whiskers.
Step 6: Cut out a ¼” gold paper triangle, and glue it to the center of the whiskers, with the triangle pointing down.
Step 7: If you’d like, gently bend forward one of the bunny’s ears.
