Giant Ombre Heart Balloon Backdrop

Did you ever see our Giant Balloon Number DIY? So, we’ve taken that idea and created a giant ombre heart for Valentine’s Day! Take a look…

Ombre Heart Balloon Backdrop | Oh Happy Day!

We’ve used a spectrum of red and pink balloons to easily create this eye-popping backdrop that would be perfect for a Valentine’s/Galentine’s party photobooth!

Materials needed: Projector, pencil, 5″ and 11″ balloons (in red, wildberry, rose, and pink), balloon hand pump, double-sided Shurtape

Step 1: Project an image of a heart onto a blank wall and lightly trace the outline with a pencil.
Step 2: Apply diagonal strips of double-sided Shurtape about 5 inches apart inside the heart outline and remove the paper backing.
Step 3: Inflate a bunch of 5” and 11” balloons  in a lot of different sizes. You want the balloons to have a round shape, so don’t inflate them all the way.
Step 4: Follow the heart outline and attach the balloons, with the darkest balloon color at the top and the lightest color at the bottom. Start by attaching the bigger balloons first, with the balloon tails facing toward the wall so they can’t be seen. Continue adding balloons until the heart is filled.
Step 5: Add an additional layer of balloons to cover any areas where the wall may be showing. Slightly overlap the balloon colors for an even greater ombre effect.

    So pretty! ?
I would love to try this for a party, but am worried about damaging the wall. Does the tape take off paint at all?
