Cupcake Liner Tree Toppers DIY

Balsam Fir, Scotch Pine, White Spruce, Blue Spruce – so many varieties to choose from! You can call these paper trees whatever you wish though. Simply twist and fringe green cupcake liners to create a pretty forest. You can decorate a platter of cupcakes, or fill the top of a fluffy white cake to create an evergreen-filled “cake-scape”.

Materials needed: green cupcake liners, craft glue, 4 1/2″ cake pop sticks, star stickers, scissors, hot glue gun.

Step 1: Flatten a green cupcake wrapper in half. Fold in half again to find where the point should be.
Step 2: Gently twist the wrapper, on your fingertip, into a tree shape and secure with a line of craft glue up the edge. Press firmly to seal. Let dry.
Step 3: With sharp scissors, fringe the bottom edge of the “tree” all the way around.
Step 4: Gently rustle and fluff the bottom of the fringe to get a little dimension.
Step 5: Apply a dollop of hot glue to the top of a cake pop stick, and insert it into the interior of the tree. If you want a taller tree, stack one on top of the other, securing with a dollop of hot glue between trees.
Step 6: Affix a star sticker to the tip of the tree. For extra security, apply a dab of hot glue to ensure the sticker doesn’t fall off.

I never would have thought of using cupcake cases like this, such a great idea. Love them in cupcakes, and I bet they’d look good in cocktails as well
