DIY Paper Ornament Advent Calendar

Here’s an awesome idea that Andrea came up with. These little boxes are the perfect size for holding small prizes and treats. They look great strung up on a garland or on a mini Christmas tree (similar to this.) And the best part is… you can probably make it with supplies you already have at home! Get the full DIY below.

Material: Paper box template, colored cardstock, yarn, sticker numbers (optional), scissors, glue, hole punch, 35 mm pom pom maker

Step 1: Download and print the box template in different color cardstock.
Step 2: Cut out the box template
Step 3: With a regular punch, make one hole on each top parts of the box.
Step 4: Start folding the box, use the lines as guides, and fold the printed lines inside the box.
Step 5: Glue the box together
Step 6: Use a 35mm pom pom maker to make your different color pom pom (when tying together leave enough yarn to later insert in the box)
Step 7: Insert your pom pom in one of the holes of the box, tie 2 knots of the extra yarn, this will prevent the pom pom to fall down.
Step 8: Cut a yarn piece 6″ long, make a loop and tie 2 knots at the end of it, not to tight and then insert this loop in the other hole of the box.
Step 9: Glue your numbers to the boxes  (you can look for numbers that are already made from your favorite craft store or you can use stickers too.)
