New Year’s Straw Starburst Garland DIY

Bursts of silver and gold explode exuberantly as you count down the hours, minutes, and seconds ‘til the New Year! These star burst garlands would look amazing strung around your New Years Party or scattered across a table or bar. If you have time before Christmas, you could even turn them into ornaments for your tree! Cheers!

Materials needed: Gold and silver spray paint, straws (drinking and cocktail sizes), zip-ties, scissors, gold twine, hot glue gun

Step 1: Bundle approx. 20-25 straws together.
Step 2: Circle the bundle with a zip-tie, and pull it closed – the tighter, the better.
Step 3: In a well-ventilated area, spray-paint the bundles. Repeat up to 3 times until all the straws are well coated.
Step 4: Apply hot glue to the tip of one straw.
Step 5: Wrap twine in a loop around the hot glue spot.
Step 6: Squeeze and hold in place til the glue dries and the twine is secure. Repeat with other start bursts about 10 inches apart.

Perfect for getting rid of extra straws too! I always buy those big party packs and end up with a lifetime supply…
