Gum Drop Ice Cream Cone Toppers DIY

Here’s a question for you: how do you make ice cream cones that don’t melt? Why, gum drops, of course. These cute little cones will last hours and are perfect for as cupcake toppers for any summer party. You could also slip them in little cello bags, throw a ribbon ‘round the stick and pass them out as favors. Don’t forget the cherry on top! (PS – An ice cream cone garland!)

Materials: Large gum drops, food-safe scissors, wooden skewers, brown craft paper, scissors, double-stick tape, little round candies (Dots, Red Hots, etc.)

Step 1: Cut skewer to approx. 5”.  Set aside.
Step 2: Choose two large gum drops, cut the top 1/3” off one.
Step 3: Skewer the cut one, then place a whole one on top.
Step 4: Cut a piece of brown paper in a rounded cone shape, dimensions approximately 2 ½” x 2 ½” x 3.”
Step 5: Twist into a cone shape, and secure with a tiny bit of double stick tape.
Step 6: Put the paper cone under the gum drops (you may need to snip the bottom of the cone in order to make it fit around the stick).
Step 7: Snip a tiny piece off the top gum drop.
Step 8: Place a “cherry” on top with one of the tiny candies.
