Oh Baby Tablecloth DIY

Have a baby shower coming up?  I conquered my fear of cutting out felt letters with the simple trick of printing out the letters, then cutting the paper and cloth together. This project took several nights worth of sewing, but in the end, looks so pretty – plus can be passed on to the next sister, cousin, or friend’s baby shower! Of course, if a baby boy is on the way, switch to blues and greens, or if you’re waiting with bated breath to find out the sex of the baby – yellows will do the trick!

Materials: 2 yards linen (I used Pink from Gray Line Linen), different shades of pink felt, scissors, Oh Baby Tablecloth Template, straight pins, threads and needle, iron.
Step 1: Print out letters from the Oh Baby Tablecloth Template.
Step 2: Cut apart the template and pin letters to pieces of felt.
Step 3: Carefully cut on outlines (I connected some letters in places there were gaps).  Remove paper as you cut.
Step 4: Place the felt letters on the linen, and thoroughly pin each letter in place.
Step 5: Sew each letter on with matching thread.
Step 6: Gently iron to get creases out.

PS: I would recommend dry-cleaning, or spot-cleaning, this tablecloth.

this is adorable! another trick to make cutting felt easier is to trace in onto freezer paper & then iron the felt to the shiny side of the freezer paper. pattern stays in place & cutting is a breeze!

Super cute! Maybe just make it green or purple or something more neutral so it can be used for either gender. Cute idea!

So cute! I have an ‘oh baby’ stamp and use it on anything and everything… so this made me smile. I’ve cut felt a few times and found it so frustrating- I’m excited to try again now that I know the secret!
