Ink Pad Wrapping Paper

In a cleaning frenzy I was about to toss out all the ink pads that were not working that great anymore. Before I did, I tested them by stamping the pad directly on paper… and loved the result! So, don’t throw them away just yet, they are perfect for staining wrapping paper & edge painting envelopes and cards! (PS – For more wrapping paper ideas, check out our tutorials here and here!)

Materials Needed: rice paper or tissue paper, blank notecards, plain envelopes, an old stamp pad

Use the stamp pad as a stamp by pushing it directly onto the paper. Make sure you have time to let the paper dry.
edge painted cards and envelopes: hold the cards (or envelopes)Β tight together and swipe the edges through the ink pad.

Now, go get out those ink pads!

Really nice idea! I’ve always wondered if they have other uses.

What a fabulous idea! I am an avid stamper but make a fair share of mistakes, blobs & blotches etc etc – now I have a use for the papers I would normally toss away – fits right in with my recycling/repurposing crafting ethos πŸ™‚ Now just have to find a use for the damaged carpets when I drop the pads πŸ˜‰

That’s… really creative! I never would have thought of doing something like that, but as usual the results are pretty cool. Great idea!
