Planning a baby shower anytime soon? This sweet paper Floral Wreath is a cooperative effort – one I think that any mom-to-be would love and appreciate. Each leaf has a note to the baby written on it by guests at the baby shower, for a special keepsake that will look lovely hanging on the nursery wall.
Click through for instructions…
Materials:
white IKEA Ribba Frame, scissors, white and colored card stock (I used green, pink, coral and gold), green crepe paper, pencils, and
glue
Step 1: Pre-shower, cut out simple leaves, approx. 2″ x 5/8″, out of the green paper. You want to have enough for every guest at the shower to have one. I used 14, but you could have more or less. Take them to the shower, and ask guests to write a tiny message to the baby – on the front and top side only – of a leaf. (Important: at the end of the shower, make sure you gather them back and take them home!)
Step 2: Cut out a flower shaped piece of paper (pink or coral), repeat 5 times, ranging in size from 1″ x 1″ to 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″.
Step 3: Cut out a gold circle (for the stamen), repeat 5 times, ranging in size from 1/2″ diameter to 1″ diameter. With sharp scissors, snip around the circle to make fringe all the way around. Repeat with remaining circles.
Step 4: Pinch the circle, so that the fringe is pointing up. Repeat.
Step 5: Cut out 30 smaller leaves from crepe paper, ranging in size from 1/8″ x 1/2″ up to 1/2″ x 1″.
Step 6: Begin placing the flowers and leaves in a loose circle on a 9″ x 9″ piece of white card stock.
Step 7: Once you have a rough idea of placement, begin gluing the flowers, stamen and leaves in a wreath shape.
Step 8: Fill in any bare spots with the smaller, crepe paper leaves.
Step 9: Insert into frame, wrap, and present to the glowing Mama-to-be.
PS – You could also have loved ones send a little leaf with a message to you, if circumstance or distance doesn’t allow them to be at the shower.

I love shadow boxes. Very creative and I fits in the decor well. I’ve used shadow boxes to hang jewelry and pin sentimental baby booties to decorate my daughter’s nursery.
