Hey guys! Thanks for your patience while we work out all the bugs for the new site. Everyone has been so nice! Oh Happy Day had a big week with a new site launch and mentions by Daily Candy, Design*Sponge, and Martha Stewart. I feel so fancy!
This weekend I’m going to give the house a much needed scrub down and stock the pantry. Then I’m going to make lots of great meals, I’m obsessed with the 101 Cookbooks site. I’ve made a different recipe everyday this week. I just ordered her books Super Natural Cooking and Super Natural Every Day. I’ve been going through a salad phase. Not traditional leafy green style salads but salads with grains, fresh vegetables, beans etc. Once your cupboards are stocked with the right staples its really easy to throw meals together quickly and they taste amazing and are very good for you. Oh I almost forgot, we are supposed to go see the Woody Allen movie Midnight in Paris. Its gotten crazy good reviews. I can’t wait! What about you, Are you doing anything fun this weekend?
I hope you’ll stop back here Monday for a HUGE announcement. (Really, its big.)
Speaking of good food I can’t stop thinking of Ottolenghi the amazing restaurant/ baked goods store we went to in London last week. It was right by the flat we stayed in so I stopped in at least once a day to try a new treat. Can you blame me? Look at that cheesecake!
I also write for Babble.com. Here are my posts for this week.
We collect one of these every time we go in a toy store here in Paris.
Wooden toys I’m definitely adding to our collection.
If I had a little girl I ‘d be buying her that tie.

I looooooooooove Ottolenghi. Did you go to the one on Upper Street in Islington? If so, you were right in my old stomping grounds! The last time I went, I bought like five different things: ostensibly to share with my sister over the entire trip, but that……didn’t happen. Whoops.

Oooohhhh Ottolenghi. My husband jokes that he makes more of the meals in our house than I do! (Not true, by the way…) Delish!

I’ve added your new website to my google reader but it doesn’t seem to be pulling in any content. Every time I try it says I’m already subscribed and then takes me to your old blog. Am I the only one having such issues? Any help/advice! I found all these great posts on your new website, I don’t want to be missing out! EEK!

Yeah I can’t add it to Google Reader either, it takes me to the old site. I’m missing all the posts because I only read blogs through Google Reader. Is there a solution to this?

I’m so excited to see an Ottolenghi mention as I worked at the flagship one in Notting Hill while in graduate school; and, no, you can’t be blamed for stopping in every day. I completely over-indulged while working there and I don’t regret a bite.

I love me a salad too, but I find I make far fewer than I used to because Wren (2) doesn’t eat much in the way of salad. Must be hard to break down the greens for wee ones without molars yet? What do your kids eat when you’re munching on salads, or do they eat them too?

I am just tickled by the new site design–it’s so charming. And I love the color palette!
Just tried Heidi’s (of 101 Cookbooks) quesadilla the other day–absolutely brilliant.
I’m going to see Midnight in Paris this afternoon and can’t wait! I think that Woody Allen movies are the best lenses through which to view some of the world’s most beautiful cities!

I LOVE Ottolenghi, his salads are divine! He has a couple of cookbooks that I can highly recommend: Ottolenghi and Plenty.
Did you try the meringue? The simplest, but definitely my favourite.

Just like light and darkness exist together, the good and evil forces stay inside human psychology. The dark side is not the one that acts always, but when it unleashes, the thin line between right and wrong diminishes. The concerned person forgets everything, and is completely driven by the wrong pathway.
