In case you haven’t noticed, we kind of have a thing for balloons on sticks (like these!). They are quick and easy to make and are such fun party favors! In the spirit of upcoming St. Patrick’s Day, we decided to make some lucky clover balloon sticks. As it turns out, mini heart balloons make perfect clover leaves!
Materials needed: 6” Mini heart balloons in lime green, balloon hand pump, low temperature hot glue gun, jumbo balloon sticks, gold spray paint
Step 1: Inflate 4 lime green heart balloons with a balloon hand pump. Tie two balloons together so you have two sets of balloons.
Step 2: Lay one balloon set over the other, with the balloon knots overlapping in the center, to create a clover shape. Twist the balloons in opposite directions so they stay together.
Step 3: Add a dab of hot glue to the four points where the leaves touch to secure the clover shape.
Step 4: Spray paint a jumbo balloon stick gold and let it dry. Attach the balloon stick to the clover balloon with hot glue. You’re all set!

This is very cute, but clovers used to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day are supposed to have three leaves, not four.
The shamrock is a three-leaved clover; the plant was used by Saint Patrick to illustrate the doctrine of the Trinity. It has subsequently become a national symbol of Ireland. The word comes from seamróg, the Irish name for the plant.
Hi Karen! Thanks for your comment! We know that shamrocks are generally associated with St. Patrick’s Day. That’s why we tried to be really clear that these were lucky clovers (not shamrocks). One of our employees is married to a man from Ireland – we made sure to ask him what was accurate before this post went live. 😉 xx

I love the pink backdrop. Is it paint or paper?

I was very excited to attempt to make these (with three of course for St. Patrick’s Day), but your mini heart balloons are not available in any shade of green.
They should be up on our website by the end of today!

I love little balloons like that! I always think they last a bit longer and they’re easier to carry around!

This is so cute! Maybe by changing colours we could possibly make them look like flowers or even butterflies (just by varying the size of the balloons). x
