I’m in love with this giant candy cane piñata. You can use it to break open at a holiday party or just keep it around for cute holiday decor (this one is going in my living room!) It’s pretty easy to make and has a BIG impact. More holiday decor here.
Materials: Tape, butcher paper, paper mache, tissue paper, hot glue gun, metallic mylar paper, x-acto knife
Step 1: Scrunch an twist your butcher paper to make a roll that is 7’x6″
Step 2: Bend the paper so that it becomes the shape of a candy cane.
Step 3: Wrap the entire candy cane with bubble wrap, secure the ends with tape.
Step 4: Paper mache the entire candy cane.
Step 5: Cut 2″ strands of tissue paper. Use scissors or an exacto knife to fringe the strips. Glue the fringe to the paper mache base. Remember, after a few strips around, you will need to switch from red to white to get the full candy cane effect.
