There are a few trains of thought of party favors. You can give a knick-knack like a bottle opener or a magnet, for kids’ parties it usually consists of cheap toys and candy which eventually make their way back to a landfill. I’m firmly in the camp that favors should be food (If you had a large budget I could be persuaded pretty easily to another camp!) Food is easy, doesn’t seem wasteful, and it’s more likely to get used. I also really like how easy it is to match the party theme with the food. I like to have packaging options on hand for this very thing. Package up some of that European candy and voila’! You’ve got a really beautiful gift option. Here are three examples of easy favor packaging. For these, we used Clear Round Containers, Paper Bags, & Pillow Boxes. Rainbow Sixlets

Materials: Clear Round Containers, Sixlets (in red, pink, orange, yellow, green & blue), Ribbon

These are really easy but take a little time to put together. For this size of container, we used between 11-12 sixlets per color. Be careful when dropping them into to the tube, if they hit the bottom too hard the candy shell on the sixlets can crack. Once the candy has been layered, tie a ribbon around the tube. Include a nametag and they can double as place settings.

Candy Bags

Materials: Paper Bags (red & orange), Hole Punch, Pretty Candy, Ribbon

These simple striped bags are graphic and iconic. We put pretty Italian candies inside! To seal, fold the top of the bags over and punch 2 small holes. Then pull the ribbon through each hole and tie in a bow.

Sixlet Pillow Boxes

Materials: Pillow Boxes, Sixlets, Ribbon

These are super easy to put together. To start, close one side of the pillow boxes. Push the sides out with your fingers and pour sixlets in until the box is full. Lot’s of candies would look great in these because they are transparent and make the candy look soft and pretty. Close the other side of box, then wrap with ribbon.
