Ahoy mateys! Here’s a fun costume you can easily pull together. Add some arm tattoos and you could double as Popeye. This little sailor is looking forward to catching a big net full of candy! (See more Halloween costumes here.)

Materials: Captain’s Hat, Mop Beard, Pipe, Pea Coat, Striped Shirt
For the Mop Beard:
Step 1: By tying a few strands of the mop fringe together, create one long strand. Measure the distance between your child’s ear and across their face (under their nose.) This will be the base of your beard.
Step 2: Create loops at either end of the long strand that will fit around each ear. This will hold the beard in place.
Step 3: Create another long strand of fringe and attach it so it hangs in a semi circle under the beard base.
Step 4: To create the mustache, tie small pieces of fringe to the base strand inside the edges of the new semi circle.
Step 5: To create the beard, tie long strands of fringe to the semi circle strand. You can leave them all hanging loose, or tie all the strands together (like we did.)
