Ever since Halloween candy has started popping up in grocery stores, I’ve definitely had sweets on the brain! Make these candy toppers to decorate cupcakes for your Halloween party this year. And an added bonus – if you spell out “trick or treat” like we did, the message fits perfectly on a dozen cupcakes!
Supplies: Crepe paper, 1″ styrofoam balls, toothpicks, string, scissors, alphabet stickers
Step 1: Cut twelve 3″ by 4″ rectangles of crepe, with the greatest stretch going along 4″ length.
Step 2: Cut twenty four pieces of string, about 3″ each.
Step 3: Place a styrofoam ball in the center of the 3″ width and gently roll. Gather both ends as shown.
Step 4: Use two pieces of string to tie off both ends.
Step 5: Trim the excess string and fluff the ends.
Step 6: Place your sticker on the crepe covered ball.
Step 7: Pierce the bottom of the ball with the toothpick. Repeat for rest of the toppers.

So cute! Wonder if it would work with peppermints in the middle instead of styrofoam. Or maybe marshmallows…
Any good styrofoam alternative ideas?
Marshmallows would work great!
