Here are three more of my favorite fashion icon costumes: Bill Cunningham, Karl Lagerfeld, and Iris Apfel. Like yesterday’s Vogue editors, these costumes are pretty easy to pull together with a few simple items costing less than $15. Make sure you click through for more photos and all the details! PS – See our costumes for Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington, and André Leon Talley here.

Bill Cunningham // We dressed Bill in his classic outfit (blue windbreaker, red tie) and made sure he wore a classic camera around his neck. The costume’s not complete without a bike!
Materials Needed: Red Tie, Newsboy Cap, Blue Windbreaker, White Shirt, Camera
Karl Lagerfeld // Karl is known for his signature white hair (which we made sure was tied back in a ponytail) and black suit. We added black sunglasses, a brooch, and fingerless gloves to complete his iconic look!
Materials Needed: White Wig, Fingerless Gloves, Clip-On Tie, Brooch, Sunglasses, Suit
Iris Apfel // I love Iris’ colorful wardrobe – so it was fun to recreate her look. Most important to her look is her short white hair and thick rimmed round glasses. Then we added a colorful shirt and lots of bright accessories (rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets.)
Materials Needed: Blonde Short Hair Wig, Colorful Accessories, Big Round Glasses, Patterned Jacket

Jo, these are hilarious! And what’s really amazing is the way you actually managed to get the children to CHANNEL these icons. That kid’s not just wearing a Lagerfeld wig and glasses – I can truly feel Lagerfeld emulated through the photo!
They’re tiny models, in-training… 🙂

Oh my gosh…this is brilliant! Bill Cunningham is my favorite :). I wonder what he would think of this…he’d probably say in that voice of his, “It was mahhhvelous!”.

A friend told me about these costumes. I think they are cute to look at! my friend was a little upset as she finds it unfair to dress kids only to amuse adults.
I don´t totally agree, but I do see her point and I ask myself what is in these costumes for the kids, as they surely do not know any of the celebritys. isn´t the whole fun of dressing up the idea of “being someone else”? if you don´t know the person you are cosumed to be, there surely is no fun in it!?
my kids (6 and 3) love dressing as a fire man and a butterfly or cat.
(sorry if my english is not so correct, I am dutch and german)
