Here is an easy little project we put together last week. I was introduced to hand carved stamps a few years ago and they are so great for personalizing something for a party last minute. This project uses a basic heart but you could do any shape or pattern. I like to keep the stamp blocks around for when I’m throwing something together at the last minute but still want some customized details.

Wait, why did you carve around the heart if you were just going to cut it out?
Cute idea, nevertheless. 🙂
Hi Ceci! You can’t get the same shape if you use scissors. We trimmed the excess because it left marks on the cylinder cup. If you were printing on paper you wouldn’t need to trim the stamp.

Looks great! I guess carving a stamp is a lot like carving a linoleum block?
Same tools?

Now why go through all that hassle. When you could just punch out or cut out the shape you want with an xacto knife, use it as a stencil, ink up a sponge and use it to fill in the area you punched out! Much cheaper and easier 🙂

I’ve always wanted to do stamp making! It looks so much fun! I love the heart cups! Very inventive! =)

I guess I better mention that you punch out the shape from card stock or a perhaps even a sticky note? Then you could stick it to the area before inking….? As long sa you didn’ punch out the sticky area.

Everything about it is sweet!!!
(with a shortage of both unique craft supplies and paper products in Sweden, I love the challenge of improving on plain paper goods and find the challenge results in even better end products) — like these! quick, easy, simply and eternally sweet!

So cute! Is it not a bit trickly stamping on a curved surface?

Hi,
I love stamps and this idea is really great. I wonder if the cup surface which is not flat is not a tricky one to put a stamp on?
Greetings from frosty and snowy center of Europe!:)
