I love LACMA’s massive ceramic La Gerbe by Henri Matisse. I mean, who can resist his paper cut-outs? Today we’re sharing a photobooth backdrop for all you high-brow, art lovers out there. Here’s an art backdrop you don’t have to be embarrassed to pose in front of! Read on to see how we made it…
Materials Needed: 26″ Savage seamless paper (in coral, primary red, turquoise, lemonade, and mint green), tape, pencil, scissors, artist tape
Step 1: Scale a sheet of paper to the size of the wall you will be using, then sketch out your design. This will help you make changes before cutting out the larger design!
Step 2: Scale up your drawings to lifesize and draw the designs onto the large paper. Tape together pieces of paper to accommodate larger designs.
Step 3: Cut out the elements with scissors.
Step 4: Use loops of artist tape to attach the designs to the wall. We used a colored wall for an extra pop of color.

This is so awesome, I love Matisse and would love to do a version of this with a white background & have it permanently up in my future home – what a statement. Love how easy it looks too!

I love Matisse’s jazz collection. It’s amazing to think of him creating these artworks from bed, even when he was sick. Such an inspiration.
