I love epic balloon backdrops, but sometimes you just want something quick and easy with the same payoff. We spotted these super affordable rolls of bright-colored wrapping paper at Party City and a light went off. What an awesome way to make a striking backdrop on a shoe-string budget!
This rainbow striped backdrop is perfect for a summer party (or to brighten up a dreary day!). Pull out all those inflatables you’ve tucked away for the season for high impact photobooth props, and let your guests reveal their true stripes!
Materials needed: Wrapping paper (in rainbow colors), gaffers tape, double-sided tape, scissors, x-acto knife
Step 1: Have someone help you hold the wrapping paper roll near the top of the wall. Then, tape the beginning of the wrapping paper to the wall. Unroll the paper roll, stopping to add gaffers tape along the top edge. Once you reach the end of the wall, cut the wrapping paper with scissors and tape in place.
Step 2: Position the next roll of wrapping paper so the bottom half of the paper you just taped is covered. Use gaffers tape to secure the side of the wrapping paper to the wall. Unroll the wrapping paper roll, adding pieces of double-sided tape to secure to the first layer of paper. Cut the paper and tape with gaffers tape to secure.
Step 3: Repeat the process with the remaining rolls of wrapping paper.
Step 4: For the final piece, use a ruler to create a crease in the wrapping paper where the wall meets the floor. Carefully cut along the crease line with an x-acto and remove the excess paper. You’re all set!
