This party hairstyle originally created by Ali Pirzadeh for the Ashish SS 16 collection is so much fun and also a great everyday look (sans confetti). These waves work great on shoulder length to long hair, if your hair is curly, you can blow dry it straight first and then follow the steps below. (PS – See more Oh Happy Hair Day posts right here!)
Materials needed: confetti, hairspray, 1.5 inch curling iron
Step 1: First, use your fingers to create a messy middle part. Take a 1.5 inch curling iron and loosely curl your hair in medium sized sections all around your head. I would suggest taking long vertical sections and holding the iron vertically (with the end of the iron pointing to the floor) while curling your hair. Alternate the direction you’re curling your hair from one section to the next. Tug on each curl after pulling out the iron, this will give you a loose wave.
Step 2: Once you’ve curled your whole head, use a lightweight, flexible hairspray (my favorite is Elnett) and spray it all over your hair. Wait for the curls to cool and shake them out using your hands. Avoiding a brush gives you a more tousled look, rather than super smooth waves.
Step 3: Finally, sprinkle your favorite confetti over your middle part and let it fall down the rest of your hair. You can spray hairspray over the confetti if you want it to be more densely over your part.
