We’ve been wanting to do this post for a while. So I’m excited it is finally here. We wanted to see if you could do a whole spread of appetizers entirely from Trader Joe’s. It’s not sponsored, we just shop there a lot. Sarah did a ton of research and found all the food that is fit to eat in the appetizer section (some didn’t make the cut!) ALL the food in this post is from Trader Joe’s. I loved the idea of this post because I love entertaining and sometimes the thing that hold me back is having the time/money/energy to figure out the food. What if you could throw a whole party with Trader Joe’s appetizers? See below what we discovered.
The biggest takeaway from this experiment is we added sauces or garnish to feel more complete. They were super easy to add. Every thing was super easy to make and pretty inexpensive too. ($3-5!). We also noticed most things tasted way better when warm: to make the best impression serve these right when they come out of the oven.
Our favorite: Mini Brie en Croute served with Raspberry Chipotle Sauce and fresh rosemary
Lentil Dip (full recipe here!): made from Steamed Lentils, Bruschetta Sauce, and Feta. Served with Pita Bite Crackers.
Spanakopita with Cilantro and Chive Yogurt Dip, served with arugula.
Parmesan Pastry Pups served with Aioli Garlic Mustard Sauce and mini pickles.
Mini Meatballs in Sriracha and Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce, served with parsley.
Mushroom Turnovers served with Creme Fraiche on fresh dill.
Chicken Tikka Samosas with Mango Ginger Chutney, served with fresh mint.
Lemongrass Chicken Stix with Satay Peanut Sauce, served with Thai basil.

Are these little plates and bowls from crate and barrel? I seem to remember you doing a story with them a few years ago.
Do you think you could find a disposable alternative so I don’t have to invest so much and store so many little plates? Finding cute little white plates and bowls that guests can throw out would be pretty rad.
Yes! The plates and bowls are from Crate and Barrel. You can see them all here: http://bit.ly/1yRRmEp Thanks for the suggestion about the disposable versions. We’ll try to collect some additional options for next time!
