Did you know June 18th is Go Fishing Day? Whether you plan to celebrate this silly holiday or you just like pretty crafts, these swimming fish make the perfect decoration for any summer party. Decorate a place setting or use them as a hanging center piece. These swimming fish are an elegant addition to any summer celebration.
Materials: Printable Swimming Fish Template, 8.5 x 11 decorative paper (make sure one side is plain with no pattern), glue, scissors, 1/8” circle punch, 4.5mm silver brads (larger ones work too), string.
Step 1: Print the Printable Swimming Fish Template on the back side of 8.5 x 11 decorative paper.
Step 2: Cut out each part of the template and punch holes on the indicated circles using 1/8” circle punch.
Step 3: Assemble the smallest round section glueing and overlapping only the area indicated by the dotted line. Repeat with the next 5 sections keeping each piece in order.
Step 4: Starting with the smallest round section, attach to the next largest section with a 4.5mm brad. Continue to add the next 5 sections.
Step 5: Add one of the two fins to the final section of the fish. Add the second fin to the other side. Add the tail fins to the bottom of the fish (see photo for detail).
Step 6: If you plan to hang the fish add string through the top two holes along the mouth of the fish and tie a knot to create a loop.
Happy Go Fishing Day!
